Eats & Drinks

A shortlist of our favorite spots in beautiful, sunny Portland, Oregon.

Bamboo Sushi

Sustainbly sourced sushi. Try the Green Machine, California Sunset, and the spicy cauliflower.

Blue Star Donuts

Show up early to grab a hard apple cider fritter or a buttermilk old-fashioned. They go fast.

Bollywood Theater

You can’t go wrong with this Indian street food. The kati roll and pork vindaloo are out of this world. For extra credit grab a G&T, Emily’s favorite in town.

Boxer Ramen

A simple menu that really hits the spot. Order a round of okonomiyaki tots and the sesame greens to share.

Their menu rotates frequently, but the handmade pasta is always delicious. Try the crispy pork ravioli or the pork belly mac & cheese if you can.

Hale Pele

The best damn stripmall tiki bar in all of NE Portland.

Ken’s Artisan Pizza

Wood-fired pizza, arguably the best in Portland—or at least we think so. The Handmade and the old-fashioned are both exceptional.

Nong’s Khao Man Gai

Nong’s serves only one dish—Thai chicken and jasmine rice—but the secret is in the sauce, so be sure to order extra.

Piazza Italia

Family-owned Italian comfort food. The lasagna will blow your hair back.

Portland Bottle Shop

Our go-to neighborhood joint, absolutely nowhere near our neighborhood. Grab a pint or glass of wine, some Old Bay fries, and maybe play a hand or two.

Taquería Nueve

The crispy wild boar carnitas and seasonal vegetal tacos are Ashur’s favorites.
